2008 Festival of Gardens
The 2008 Castlemaine & District Festival of Gardens was a great success and we had thousands of visitors. 20 gardens were open to the public. They included some of our popular favourites, as well as seven new gardens. There were gardens to inspire everyone: large rambling gardens, formal gardens, compact gardens, organic gardens, native and exotic gardens. Gardens for pets, gardens with chooks. There were charming garden ‘rooms’, sculptures, follies, and much more.
The Castlemaine & District Festival of Gardens program for 2008 is still available as a souvenir for $3. (Post & packing is extra.) It describes all the gardens that were open and provides addresses, and map references. The program includes details of places to visit and local maps. The program can still be posted to you: full details appear in the left-hand panel and on the Order Form.
